You agree with Google as to how much you will pay them every time somebody clicks on your ad. The whole idea with Pay Per Click Advertising is to be as specific as you can be with your target keywords. You then need to put a bid in to Google as how much you are prepared to pay for those keywords so your Ad appears anytime someone searches those words.
Once you have identified your Primary Keywords and associated keywords, you begin to put together your whole Ad Campaign.
You prepare the Ad content based on your keyword selection. You need to have a display URL on your Ad and you will also need to tell Google what your destination URL is.
You will have to have a good landing page that again is relevant to the keywords selected for your Ad. Your Landing Page needs to give the visitor the information they were seeking when they clicked on your Ad. You also need to have a Call To Action, tell the visitor what you want them to do. i.e Leave their name and email, buy a product, complete a form, whatever. You must make it clear you want them to do something.
As with any paid advertising campaign, in Pay Per Click Advertising you need to Test the Ad Campaign. Testing is vital so that you get the best bang for your buck. If you fail to test, you could end up losing a lot of money on a campaign that could bring much better results with a little bit of tweaking.
